Another suicide accident

It is no surprise that suicide is quite rampant in Japan. In the recent news, a woman jumped to her death Tuesday from the top of a department store in Tokyo's busy Ikebukuro district, apparently hitting a man on the ground and knocking him unconscious, police said. The man is believed to be a 37-year-old corporate worker from Chiba Prefecture and the woman a Tokyo resident in her 20s.

According to the report, police received a phone call shortly before 1 p.m. reporting that a man and woman were lying bleeding on the road in front of the eight-story Ikebukuro Parco building. The woman died after being taken to a hospital while the man is unconscious and in critical condition. A pair of women's sneakers were found on the rooftop of the Parco building, next to JR Ikebukuro station, the police said. The door for rooftop access is usually locked but the plastic key cover was found broken, and a security camera on the rooftop captured images of the woman.
