Nissan Micra C+C Unveiled

The latest car released by Nissan Motor Co is the new Micra C+C. It will go on sale at dealers across Japan beginning on July 23. The Micra C+C coupĂ©/convertible which was designed and engineered in the UK is the limited volume "coupe/convertible," imported from UK, has been modified for the Japanese market, Nissan said. The Micra C+C is noted for its power-retractable glass roof that opens or closes at the touch of a button in about 22 seconds. Micra C+C allows owners the best of both worlds: fresh air when the weather allows and hardtop protection when it doesn’t.

With the top down, the Micra C+C offers the open-air ambience of a classic convertible. The name Micra was coined from the word "micro" and the letters "C+C" stand for Coupe plus Convertible. It has been highly popular in Europe since it first debuted there in November 2005.

The Micra C+C's sporty appearance is accentuated by a glass roof that gives the car a unified look from windshield to trunk. In the up position, the glass top blocks 93% of ultraviolet radiation to protect occupants against sunburn. A shade is also provided to mitigate direct exposure to sunlight. Karmann's logo is stamped on the lower part of the body.

The combination of a low vehicle height and distinctive character line running from the cabin to the rear adds to the Micra C+C's image of elegant sportiness. The look is completed by a unique grille, front bumper, tailpipe finisher and sill protectors. Five body colors are offered, including Breeze Blue Metallic.

The selling price of the Micra C+C in Japan is priced at 2.499 million yen. However, Nissan said it plans limited sales of 1,500 vehicles
